Programs

Orange TeamMidwest Sports Challenge (MSC) offers youth groups and organizations the opportunity to learn, earn and hold special events.

Programs will range from recreational or competitive basketball and indoor soccer leagues, to specific sport tutoring, specialty skills camps and assistance with academic achievement, which is the main focus for all participants. Listed below are some of MSC's programs.

Columbia Orange Basketball Program

AAU National Qualifiers, MAYB Nationally Ranked 16th, Show-Me State Games Champions (2002-2012).

Participants will have the opportunity to participate in Columbia's finest and longest running competitive basketball programs. Our mission is to "assist our players in academic and athletic achievement". We offer our players the opportunity to compete at the highest level in their basketball aspirations while inspiring them to get a good education. The Columbia Orange is a year round basketball program. Please contact us if you are interested. Try-outs for the Orange Basketball Program will start the week of February 14th - 21st, 2014 (For grades 3rd-8th) and March 14th-21st, 2014 for grades 9th-12th). Times and days for these try-outs TBA. Competitve Leagues will begin in April 2015. Please contact us for more details.

Basketball Camps

Participants Grades K-7th get to practice and work on their basketball skills by our trained and skilled staff. Fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, offense, defense, ballhandling and passing will be taught. Participants will also get the opportunity to play and compete inhalf-court and full-court games. Full day camps: 8am to 4pm. Half day camps: 8am to 12pm & 12pm to 4pm.

Shooting Skills Camp

Players will have the opportunity to practice and develop there jump shot. Drills and fundamentals will be offered at this camp. Players will work on shooting off the catch, dribble, moves and without the ball. They will understand the importance of shot development and shot selection. Five (5) one hour sessions will be offered for this program.

Elite Basketball League                                       

This is a competitive division for teams who compete at the Show Me State Games, AAU and MAYB levels. Teams play in a 5 week league (5 games guaranteed). Games may be played on Saturdays and Sundays. For grade levels 3rd-12th.

Basketball Personal Training                                    

An excellent opportunity for players to improve his or her game. These training's are designed for players who want to advance their basketball skill levels. Basketball personal training focuses on teaching advanced skills and fundamentals through individual and team concepts. 1 to 10 players maximum. Offered year round must call to schedule workouts.

Indoor Soccer                                                                 

Iddy Biddy soccer is a 5 week league. Iddy Biddy Soccer will be for grades Pre-1st grades and will work soccer motor skills and play one 10 minute game. Leagues are played on Saturdays.

Iddy Biddy Ballers

Iddy Biddy BallersParticipants between the ages 3 to 5 have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals and motor skills of basketball. From dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and various foot,hand and eye coordination skills.

Baskets are lowered to 6ft in height for fast and fun action. A five week program. Leagues are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

                                          

Tiny Tots                                                                        

Participants grades kindergarten to 1st will practice 20 minutes of fundamentals and play 2 (10 minutes halves) on 8 ft' baskets and modified courts and rules for five weeks. Leagues are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Pee Wee Hoops                                                    

This five-week basketball league provides youth the opportunity to have fun, learn fundamentals and play the game of basketball. For 2nd & 3rd Grade Leagues. Participants will practice for 15 minutes and play 2 15-minute halves. Leagues are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Academy Skills Clinic

These skills clinic are designed for the novice to the advanced players in their age divisions 3rd to 8th grades. Participants will have 5 sessions where they will work on various basketball skills to develop their game. Drills in dribbling, shooting, lay-ups, pivoting, etc. will be incorporated for beginners. Advanced players will work on shooting off the dribble, creating shots, finishing drills and understanding offensive and defensive footwork and techniques.
